Notte In Bianco 2009 Edition
The second annual Notte In Bianco took place on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Guzzo private residence. This fundraising evening, which was a resounding success in its first year, is organized to fund cancer research through the Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Université de Montréal in partnership with The Cancer Research Society. This second Notte In Bianco, that was as exciting as last year's, featured prominent figures from the world of business, politics, and the arts. Following the success of the 2008 edition, the Notte In Bianco theme had been once again the classic "Hamptons Lifestyle".
All funds raised during the Notte In Bianco is used directly and exclusively for cancer research in the field of environment-cancer. The main objective of the Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Université de Montréal is to find scientific evidence that could help us identify and explain the causes of cancer.

More than $350,000 raised to benefit the Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Université de Montréal
More than 300 guests, including prominent figures from the world of politics, sports and the arts were present on September 11th for the fundraising evening hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Guzzo at their family residence in Terrebonne. Guests were dressed entirely in white and shared one common goal: to contribute to cancer research. " The Guzzo Environment-Cancer Research Chair of the Université de Montréal allows us to forge links between the environment and cancer. By better understanding the impact of the environment on this disease, researchers can be in a position to prevent the different types of cancer", explained Mr. Guzzo.
In addition to the more than $350,000 raised through ticket sales, an amount of $ 50,000 was added during the evening by means of an auction. As the evening came to a close, the hosts were extremely pleased at having reached their objective. "This is the first time that I have organized a fundraising evening of this kind, but I have every intention of doing so again next year", ended Vincent Guzzo.
